All aboard our 1800’s replica San Francisco style Trolley Car for a spectacular coastal drive. As we traverse along the scenic highway North bound, your Guide will point out various sights, sharing the rich history of our fishing and logging past. Enjoy the 16 miles of waterfront and wildlife opportunities.
At our first stop, Potlatch Park, you will explore a replicated circa 1800’s Native Fishing Village. Potlatch Park is privately owned and dedicated to re-creating an authentic experience with its majestically carved totem poles, traditionally built Clan House and a Carving Center were Native carver’s practice their craft.
Stop in at the Alaska Totem Trading Shop a locally owned gift shop that displays many fabulous souvenirs. Restrooms are available at this stop!
Peek inside the free Russian Museum featuring historic collection of guns dating from 1535-1868. Included in the collection is a Gatling gun made by Mr. Richard J. Gatling himself. The Russian museum also displays mammoth tusks, assorted furs, ivory carvings and other curiosities.
Next stop is a short stroll through the rain forest to the delightful seaside Totem Bight State Historic Park. Your Guide will share with you the legends of the Tlingit and Haida Totem Poles that dot your path along the way. Step inside the authentic clan house that is still utilized to host Tribal Clan Dancers throughout the year. Once inside, your Guide will share insight of how the peoples used to live many years ago. Back outside you will have many photo opportunities as you meander through the Totems.
We recommend that you book in advance. This tour is very popular and usually sells out. There are no discounts for early booking due to the popularity of this tour. Trolley car capacity is 34 seats.
